Alison Berton trained at the renowned Cordwainers College in the UK and obtained her City in Guilds in Rural Saddlery.Since arriving in Australia in 1985 she has made saddlery items for the NSW Mounted Police, numerous dog muzzles for industry and individual clients, protected dog harnesses as well as the occasional rat harness! Alison only uses traditional methods and is a member of the Saddlers and Harness Makers’ Association of Australia.
Aram Omara has over 40 years of leathercraft experience, and has been teaching classes of all levels and abilities for the last 7 years. During his classes you'll have access to his enormous collection of stamps an tools, as well as his many years of lacing, braiding and leathercraft experience.
Sarah van Oosterom’s eponymous design studio was founded in 2012 by the award-winning designer. The ethos behind the studio is to produce unique and sculptural pieces that age beautifully over time. Sarah completed a BA in Fine Art finishing with distinction in 2007 at RMIT in Melbourne. She developed her leather working skills while training under a Japanese master craftsman in the inner eastern suburbs of Tokyo.
Les Williams has been a Leather Craftsman for 40 years. In 1985 Les completed a two-year full time Applied Arts course, majoring in Leatherwork at the Bendigo College of Technical and Further Education, winning the Outstanding Achievement Award for his work. In 1986 he completed a basic course of Teacher Tutor Training through the Hawthorne Institute of Education. Since which time he has been involved in day and weekend workshops tutoring beginners to semi advanced leather artists.
