IVAN JERK NEEDLE AWL #5

Heavy duty hardwood handled sewing awl. Has open hook needle has a sharp round pointed tip to penetrate heavy leather such as shoe soling. Push through with the awl, place thread in the hook then pull back through and loop around a second thread to form a stich in the same manner as a sewing machine. Besides shoemaking and repair, it is a handy tool for sewing in hard-to-reach area.
